Sunrise Lake Watershed Advisory Committee Launches Phase One

On Wednesday, April 23rd, the Sunrise Lake Watershed Advisory Committee—working in partnership with SRPC, Underwood Engineers, and NHDES—kicked off Phase One of their implementation plan with a site visit to the Sunrise Lake Land Association’s beach. Participants included members of the advisory committee, the conservation commission, local staff, and residents. This kickoff meeting marks an important milestone in advancing the recommendations outlined in the 2021 Sunrise Lake Watershed Management Plan. The project is funded by a 319 Watershed Assistance Grant and aims to build on ongoing efforts to improve water quality in the lake, with a particular focus on reducing phosphorus levels and the frequency of cyanobacteria blooms. https://www.des.nh.gov/sites/g/files/ehbemt341/files/documents/sunrise-lake-plan.pdf
