Did you know about NH 911 C.A.R.E.S.? It’s a FREE program that could be a lifeline in an emergency!

Here’s the lowdown:

What is it? A confidential registry that lets you link your phone number to vital medical info for first responders.

Why is it important? It gives 911 telecommunicators instant access to crucial details about chronic conditions, allergies, and even access info (like gate codes or service animals) when you call. This helps them understand the situation better and send the right help faster.

Who can benefit? Individuals with conditions like Alzheimer’s, dementia, epilepsy, diabetes, hearing impairments, and more. It can also include behavioral concerns or mobility issues.

How does it work? When you call 911 from a registered number, your info pops up on the telecommunicator’s screen!

How do you sign up? It’s easy and secure! Register online at cares.desc.nh.gov. No computer access? Email NH911CARES@desc.nh.gov for a paper form.

Is my info safe? YES! It’s stored in a secure database accessible only to authorized personnel during a 911 call from your registered number.

When we receive a phone call from a telephone number associated to a C.A.R.E.S. Individual, the medical condition(s) and other information submitted by the account holder is displayed on the 911 telecommunicator’s computer screen and can be shared with first responders so they can have a better understanding of the emergency situation before they even arrive on scene.
